As much as I opposed it at the time, and as much as that worry of my parents dependably felt like subjugation to me, and as much as I truly saw it for instance of how ‘NOT’ to live, I still absorbed the message that it MATTERS VERY MUCH what other individuals thought of me.

PERPETUAL HAPPINESS, REALLY?

I don’t think we ever achieve aperfect “elevation” or perpetual happiness in this world (i.e. a perpetual level of peace), best-case scenario we accomplish levels of ‘relative peace’. For ages, with a few exceptions of great mystics and scientists, what humanity has achieved when it comes to dealing with suffering is a capacity to reduce suffering, but not the ending of suffering itself.

DON’T LET MEDIA CONTROL YOUR MIND

I don’t watch the news or read daily papers. I’m kind of famous for this, and my friends nag me, and question, ‘How would you understand what’s happening on the planet?” As though no one TELLS me what’s going on, like I live on a hilltop or a desert … my standard reaction is that, “I step outside, peek around, and if the world is still here, that’s all that I have to know!”
